:: organization - week 5 ::

We're still in the kitchen, but this week, we're organizing recipes and cookbooks.  I find this challenge funny, because I have a close friend who LOOOVES recipes and cookbooks.  They're her guilty pleasure ;)  Some girls obsess over shoes, purses...my girl obsesses over the pictures in cookbooks...  I don't quite have that same passion, but I do love pinning recipes.  Hmm...maybe I should organize those too.

The task of organizing recipes and cookbooks will range from person to person.  My challenge wasn't so bad to tackle, but really we all probably have pages ripped out of magazines of recipes we were going to try but haven't; those that we tried but didn't care for; and those that are really inspiring, but if we gave ourselves a reality check, aren't likely ever going to happen.  So really, everyone can benefit from this week's challenge.  The few recipes and cookbooks I do have are placed in their own cupboard above the fridge.  They're easy to get at, and most of the recipes we would like to try or have tried and liked are marked with a flag for easy retrieval.  My loose recipes are stored in this cute box I crafted a number of years back.

All you need is some scrapbook paper, embellishments, the tin of course, and index cards.

If you have a lot of sentimental recipes that you'd like a special place for, I've also seen some really creative photo books turned into recipe books.  It would take a bit of work, so by all means not meant to be completed for this week's challenge, but good for a project when you have some time to dedicate to it.

Next week, we work on Recycling and Trash areas around the house.  However, since most of that occurs in the kitchen, looks like we're not quite done here yet!
